On June 19, 2017, Advanced Functional Fabrics of America (AFFOA) celebrated the opening of its national headquarters and first of its kind advanced fabric prototyping facility. Attendees were given an exclusive opportunity to participate in AFFOA’s inaugural product platform launch; network with AFFOA members, including leaders of industry and academic organizations within the revolutionary fibers and textiles industry; and experience advanced fabrics first-hand.

The event featured Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Representatives Niki Tsongas and Joe Kennedy, United States Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics James MacStravic, New Balance CEO Robert DeMartini, MIT President L. Rafael Reif, AFFOA Chairman of the Board GEN Paul Kern (ret.), and AFFOA CEO and MIT Professor Yoel Fink.
