Wearables have transformed our ability to measure the human body. Consumers can now wake up to scores for sleep, stress, HRV, recovery and readiness—but knowing that something is wrong does not necessarily help change it. At the same time, the rapid growth of consumer red-light products has demonstrated enormous interest in photobiomodulation (PBM), while raising a different question: does the light deliver the right biological dose?

The findings point toward a future in which PBM is defined not simply by wavelength or light intensity, but by precision dose targeted to specific biological outcomes.
